Critical Role is moving from the world of Exandria to Brennan Lee Mulligan's new creation Aramán for the tabletop role-playing game, actual-play series' upcoming Campaign 4.
Along with "Dimension 20" star Mulligan as the previously announced guest Game Master for the season, Campaign 4 will star usual Game Master Matthew Mercer, as well as his fellow Critical Role founders Laura Bailey, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson, Liam O'Brien, Marisha Ray, Sam Riegel and Travis Willingham, alongside Luis Carazo, Robbie Daymond, Aabria Iyengar, Whitney Moore and Alex Ward.

Per Critical Role, Campaign 4 will be played using Dungeons & Dragons (2024 rules) as its game system, as well as some "homebrew" elements created by Jeremy Crawford and Chris Perkins at Critical Role's Darrington Press.
Additionally, this season will mark the first Critical Role campaign to implement a West Marches-style structure.
Per Critical Role, "The first four episodes will act as an Overture, introducing and weaving all 13 cast members through intersecting scenes before the story splits into three smaller tables – the Soldiers, Schemers, and Seekers – for the rest of the campaign, with overarching themes and genres tying them altogether."
The season will be available for streaming on Critical Role streamer Beacon.tv, as well as Critical Role's YouTube and Twitch channels on Oct. 2. The VOD available for everyone the following Monday and podcast episodes will drop in two parts: the first one the week after the premiere, and the second on the following Tuesday. Beacon subscribers will get access to all episodes of Critical Role Cooldown for Campaign 4.
"When creating the worlds that we build and explore in all of our content at Critical Role, we have always held strong to the belief that we should use the system that best supports the story we want to tell," Ray said. "We are certainly spoiled for choice when it comes to TTRPG systems that the cast knows and loves, so we are very excited to explore more of both Daggerheart and Dungeons and Dragons in our near (and hopefully distant) future."
