Legendary tennis pro Jimmy Connors left the court behind for his kids, Brett Connors and Aubree Leigh Connors.
"There were family priorities that needed to be taken care of," he told The Guardian in June 2006. "I used to be away 42 weeks a year. I wanted to see my kids grow up."
After his highly publicized romance with fellow tennis legend Chris Evert, the Wimbledon champion married former Playboy Playmate of the Year Patti Connors in 1978, per ESPN. The couple welcomed their first child, Brett, in 1979, followed by Aubree five years later.
In 1996, Jimmy stepped away from the sport to spend time raising his kids on their family ranch in Santa Barbara, Calif. Though his son followed in his footsteps and became an Emmy-winning producer for the Tennis Channel, his daughter opted for a different sport and worked for the Los Angeles Lakers until 2018, per her Facebook. She's also a competitive ballroom dancer and works as a fitness instructor in Florida.

Patti and Jimmy's first child was born on Aug. 2, 1979.
Like his father, Brett grew up on the court, learning the game from his grandmother, Gloria. Though he made it to the junior level, he considered himself more of a "casual" player, he told Tennis Prose in February 2014.
Brett gave up tennis at 13 to focus on golf and continued to play the sport in college at the University of Arizona before a wrist injury sidelined him.
Still, Brett has a deep appreciation for the game. He told Tennis Prose that some of his favorite childhood memories were watching Jimmy play — especially how the fans interacted with the pros during the long walk to center court.
"The crowd would part like the red sea as the two players would make their way to the Stadium, almost as if they were two heavyweight fighters preparing for battle," he said. "The people would cheer and pat their favorite player on the back, and I knew this fired my father up."
After two years at Arizona, Brett left school to work on his dad's tour before finishing his communications degree at California State University, Northridge in 2007. He went on to produce content for the Tennis Channel, ESPN and NBCUniversal, per his LinkedIn.
In 2020, he teamed up with his dad to launch Advantage Connors, a podcast in which the pair interview icons like Mike Tyson and break down the latest in sports.

Jimmy's daughter, Aubree, was born on Dec. 24, 1984.
From 2015 to 2018, she worked for the Los Angeles Lakers, and according to her Instagram bio, she's also a competitive ballroom dancer and a spin and fitness instructor. After taking a break in 2023 to find a new partner, Aubree officially returned to the competition floor in May 2025.
Like her brother, she enjoys tennis and golf — especially when it's with her dad. "Missing my dad already!" she captioned a carousel of photos from a June 2021 visit. "Had such a great time with him. Other than playing tennis with him, golfing is my next favorite thing! Whether it's on the driving range, to playing around, or looking for gators in the ponds. Can't wait for him to come back!"
In her personal life, Aubree has been dating her partner since October 2023 and frequently shares glimpses into their life together on Instagram.
"One year ago today this man changed my life," the dancer wrote in an October 2024 Instagram post. "I couldn't have asked for a better partner, teammate and lover. Thank you for showing me a love that I've never felt before. Our love story is my favorite and I will never get tired of talking about it."
She's also a dog mom to a Bernese mountain dog named Frankie, whom she adopted in 2022.
