(08:00 a.m. EDT) Busy In Margate City

From senior engagement editor Ron Brackett:

Hurricane Erin kept emergency crews in Margate City, New Jersey, busy Thursday.

The Fire Department said in a Facebook post that 18 people and three dogs had to be rescued from flooded vehicles.

Trucks were brought in to evacuate another 34 people who had sought to escape the flooding by going into two restaurants.

Margate City sits on the coast between Atlantic City and Ocean City, New Jersey.
