Olivia Colman and Benedict Cumberbatch are sharing their secrets to a lasting marriage.
The pair, who star together in the upcoming marriage-comedy "The Roses" (in theaters Aug. 29), revealed in a recent interview with The Guardian how they make their respective unions work. Colman, 51, has been married to Hollywood producer Ed Sinclair since 2001, while Cumberbatch, 49, has been married to actress and playwright Sophie Hunter since 2015.
"I love love," Colman told the outlet. "I like to romanticize love. I think it's ace." Her chipperness around the subject contrasts somewhat with the movie's themes, which explore gender norms in the household and jealousy between spouses.
"Classicism has given us this sort of romantic ideal of love," Cumberbatch adds, "which is impossible to live up to. Those two things wrestle: it's great to fall in love, but eventually one of you will be dog-tired and doing the bins," or taking out the trash.

A marriage is also not just a wedding, the "Doctor Strange" actor told The Guardian.
"There has to be this cool thing beyond the idealism of vows," he said. "It's such a powerful thing to express love and then have it reflected back with your friends and family. But to find something beyond that heightened moment, you have to think a bit more deeply than just the party of love."

Both actors went on to confirm that decades into their respective marriages, they're still in love.
"I'm quite in love," Colman told the Guardian, to which Cumberbatch chimed in: "I am too! It's all great. It's, y'know, life. And I know Ed annoys you sometimes."
"Only a bit, and it's been 30 years," the "Broadchurch" actress retorted. "It's not bad to be a bit annoyed with each other."
