Jennifer Gates is celebrating her dad Bill Gates as a wonderful grandpa and father on his birthday.
To mark her dad's 70th birthday, Jennifer shared a sweet snap of the Microsoft co-founder with his granddaughter Leila, 2, on her Instagram Stories. In the picture, the proud grandfather smiled at his granddaughter as they sat next to each other and played together.
"Celebrating an amazing dad and grandpa today! Happy 70th birthday @thisisbillgates" Jennifer wrote in caption.

Bill and his ex-wife Melinda French Gates, who divorced in 2021 after 27 years of marriage, are parents to daughter Jennifer, 30, son Rory, 25, and daughter Phoebe, 23. The pair became grandparents for the first time in February 2023 when Jennifer and her husband, Nayel Nassar, welcomed their first child, Leila. The couple's second child, Mia, arrived in October 2024.
In a video interview in April 2023, Bill shared that he plans to "create an adventure" for his grandchildren.
"The relationship of a grandparent to a child is a nice one because it's kind of in addition to what they have with their parents," he said. "It's kind of a supporting role, and in that way, it's kind of simple. It can be a lot of fun stuff."
During his appearance on Today to discuss his new memoir, Source Code: My Beginnings, Bill was asked whether his two grandkids have inherited any of his skills.
"You never want to push kids to do the same thing that you did," Bill replied, prompting host Savannah Guthrie to add, "Especially when they're 10 months old."
"Yeah. The oldest is turning 2 next week, so I got some nice fluffy dolls," he said. "I'll try and be a good grandfather, read some books like my grandparents did."

In 2023, to mark Grandparents' Day, the philanthropist shared a photograph of himself reading Jean Reagan's How to Babysit a Grandpa to his granddaughter Leila, as she sat in his daughter Jennifer's arms.
In the caption to his post, Bill reflected on what grandfatherhood has taught him.
"Becoming a grandparent has given me a whole new lens to see the world through," said Bill. "It keeps me motivated to ensure my granddaughter — and all our grandchildren — inherit a better world than they were born into."
