At least three people are dead after Storm Amy, once Hurricane Humberto, tore through the U.K., Ireland and northern Europe with powerful winds, heavy rain and storm surge.
In Ireland, more than 200,000 properties lost power as the storm swept through. Police confirmed a man died in Letterkenny, northwest Ireland, in what they described as a weather-related incident.
In France, two more fatalities were reported by local media: One victim drowned while swimming in dangerous conditions, and another died when his car was hit by a falling tree branch.

The storm triggered widespread travel chaos. Rail and sea services were canceled across multiple countries, and hundreds of flights and ferries were scrapped.
More than 100 reports of damaging winds poured in across the region, the vast majority from Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Meanwhile, Britain's Met Office said a gust of 96 mph was recorded on the island of Tiree, off Scotland's west coast.

In London, Hyde Park, Regent's Park, Richmond Park and several other green spaces that are a magnet for locals and tourists were shut all day Saturday because of "severe wind gusts," Royal Parks management said.
Storms with the potential to cause serious disruption or damage are given names jointly by the U.K., Irish and Dutch weather agencies. This one, the first of the season, is Storm Amy.
Amy also wreaked havoc on Sweden, Denmark and Norway late Friday into Saturday. Tens of thousands of homes lost power as strong gusts brought down trees and power lines throughout Scandinavia. Heavy rainfall and high tides pummeled the coastal areas.
By the end of the weekend, weather conditions began to ease, bringing some relief after the first punishing windstorm of the season.
