Nikodem Czyżewski, the Polish YouTuber known online as Lil Narcyz, was found dead weeks after his disappearance, authorities announced on May 5. He was 23.

In anews release, police in Gliwice, Poland, said that their search for Czyżewski had concluded after they received word that his body had been found in Croatia. The content creator last contacted his family on April 8, and police announced their search at the end of April, reported local outletFakt.

“The search for the young resident of our region has been ongoing since the report of his disappearance was received,” read the police news release. “Officers from the Gliwice Municipal Police Headquarters were involved in the operation, and with the support of superior units, they verified every tip and every piece of information that could help determine the 23-year-old's whereabouts.”

PEOPLE has contacted Gliwice police and Czyżewski's YouTube team for comment.

On hisYouTube channel, Czyżewski had grown a subscriber base of over 450,000, sharing comedy and lifestyle content. He was known for his provocative diss tracks on the platform, some of which amassed millions of views.

He evidently took a step back from content creation in the final years of his life, uploading his final YouTube video in November 2021. Though the video was over four years old, fans posted tributes in the comments after news broke of his death.

“Rest in peace, and deepest sympathy to the family,” shared another.
